Patna: With the winter chill receding, Bihar is experiencing a rapid transition to warmer weather, with temperatures already hitting 30 degrees Celsius in several areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating a further increase in temperatures across the state in the coming days, potentially leading to heat wave conditions.
According to the forecast, the month of March will witness a significant rise in temperatures, with the southwest districts of Buxar, Arwal, Aurangabad, and Rohtas particularly vulnerable to heat waves.
The maximum temperature is expected to range between 30 to 33 degrees Celsius throughout March.
The department anticipates that until March 5, the maximum temperature will fluctuate between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will remain between 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. A slight dip in temperature is expected on March 6 and 7, with the maximum temperature dropping to 28 to 30 degrees Celsius.
However, a new western disturbance is predicted to become active in the western Himalayan region on March 8, which could impact Bihar. The Meteorological Center forecasts light to moderate rainfall in parts of southwest, southeast, and south-central Bihar on March 8th and 9th due to this disturbance.
From March 4 to 6, the temperature in most parts of Bihar is expected to remain above normal. The combination of bright sunlight and light hot winds will likely intensify the feeling of heat during the day.
