MPs Discuss Railway Infrastructure and Passenger Services at Sonpur Divisional Parliamentary Committee Meeting

Hajipur: A meeting of the Divisional Parliamentary Committee of Sonpur Division was held on Wednesday, bringing together Members of Parliament from the region to discuss issues of public interest and railway development. The meeting was chaired by Saran MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy and attended by key officials, including East Central Railway General Manager Chhatrasal Singh and Sonpur Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Bhushan Sood.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ramnath Thakur, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, Bhagalpur MP Ajay Kumar Mandal, Vaishali MP Veena Devi, and Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary were present at the meeting. Representatives of Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai, and Tariq Anwar, along with other MPs’ representatives, also participated.
During the discussion, MPs and their representatives provided suggestions for enhancing railway infrastructure and passenger amenities. They stressed the need to prioritize infrastructure development and raised concerns regarding train stoppages at various stations. Future action plans for railway expansion were also discussed.
General Manager Chhatrasal Singh welcomed the MPs and presented an overview of the progress made by the Sonpur Division in passenger services, infrastructure development, and new projects. He expressed gratitude for the recommendations made by the MPs, stating that their inputs would help shape future railway development plans.
