Tight Security in Gopalganj as Baba Bageshwar’s Hanuman Katha Begins Today

Gopalganj/Patna: A five-day Hanuman Katha and Divya Darbar by Baba Bageshwar, led by Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, begins today at Ram Janaki Math in Bhore block, Gopalganj. The monastery, with a history spanning around 700 years, is expected to draw large crowds as devotees from across the region gather for the spiritual event.

The Katha will run from March 6 to 10, with extensive security arrangements in place. Bihar Military Police personnel have been deployed at the monastery, and intelligence teams are monitoring the area. Authorities have introduced new traffic restrictions to manage the influx of visitors.

Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Kumar Dixit stated that all buses, private vehicles, and trucks traveling between Gopalganj and Siwan will be diverted via the Siwan bypass. Entry of these vehicles into Mirganj market has been restricted, and heavy vehicle movement will only be permitted between midnight and 5 am.

A designated route has been assigned for vehicles heading to Bhore, passing through Marchia Devi Chowk, Sabeya Field, Line Bazar, Panchdevri, and Imaliya to Bhore Chauraha. Special parking areas have been set up near the venue, with VIP parking at Barah Bigha Maidan. Additionally, paid parking facilities will be available near the Saiya Devi Temple.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, a temporary police station will be operational in Ramnagar from March 5 to 11, handling crowd control and security. A helpline has also been issued for assistance: Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) can be reached at 8235533147, while the Gopalganj Police Helpline is 9470092879.

The event will be inaugurated with an Aarti by Dr. Shanti Rai, a renowned doctor and recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and the President’s Award. Mahant Hemkant Sharan Devacharya Ji Maharaj of Ram Janaki Math described it as a moment of pride for the district. Following the Aarti, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri will begin his discourse from 3 pm to 7 pm, delivering spiritual teachings to thousands of devotees.
