Araria / Patna : Araria district is set to benefit from a major infrastructure upgrade, with the constructioThisn of a 58km four-lane road connecting Parsarma to Zero Mile. The project, approved by the central government, aims to improve connectivity between Supaul and Araria, cutting travel time and enhancing transport efficiency in the region.
The proposed road will pass through the Bhargama, Raniganj, and Araria blocks, integrating with National Highway 327E at Zero Mile. It is expected to streamline travel between Supaul and Araria, making commuting faster and more convenient for residents.
According to officials, land acquisition will be required across 35 maujas in three blocks. Work on acquiring the land and finalising the project blueprint is set to begin soon.
Currently, Araria has two national highways—NH 27, linking Purnia’s Zero Mile to Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur, and NH 327E, which runs from Supaul to Siliguri. The expansion of the road network is anticipated to spur economic growth in the district, improving access to neighbouring areas as well as the state capital, Patna.
A senior officer in district administration confirmed that the new four-lane road will be a significant addition to the region’s transport infrastructure. “The project will span approximately 58km, passing through the Araria, Raniganj, and Bhargama blocks. Land will be identified and acquired across 35 maujas in these areas for the highway’s construction,” he said.
