Bihar Chief Secretary Reviews Law and Order Ahead of Elections, Holi, and Ramzan

Patna: A high-level review meeting on law and order and preparations for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena. The meeting also assessed security arrangements for Holi and Ramzan.
Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, Secretary Pranav Kumar, Special Secretary K.S. Anupam, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, along with district magistrates, police superintendents, commissioners, and senior law enforcement officers, participated in the discussions.
Key Decisions Taken
Enhanced Security Measures
Police will tighten security across Bihar during Holi and Ramzan, ensuring strict monitoring of potential troublemakers and rumour-mongers. Law enforcement agencies have been directed to take immediate and firm action against any individuals attempting to disrupt public order.
Ban on Obscene and Provocative Content
To preserve social harmony, the administration has banned the broadcast of obscene or provocative songs during Holi. Any violations will lead to FIRs and legal action against those responsible for spreading inflammatory content.
Social Media Monitoring
Authorities will closely track activities on social media platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation and communal tensions. Strict legal measures will be taken against those using digital platforms to incite unrest or spread rumours.
Community Peace Committees
To foster communal harmony and brotherhood, the government will organise local peace committee meetings. These meetings will include community leaders and social influencers to ensure dialogue and cooperation among different groups during the festive period.
Heightened Security at Religious Sites
Security will be intensified at mosques during Ramzan and at sensitive locations during Holi to prevent any untoward incidents. Law enforcement agencies will deploy special surveillance teams to maintain peace and public safety.
The administration emphasized that these measures aim to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration of Holi and Ramzan, fostering an environment where people of all communities can observe their festivals without fear.
