PATNA – Passengers scheduled to board the SpiceJet flight at 10:55 am on Monday faced an unexpected challenge as they were compelled to wait at Patna Airport for nearly nine hours due to foggy conditions and low visibility. The flight bound for Delhi finally departed at 8:32 pm, causing considerable disruption and agitation among travelers due to frequent changes in the departure schedule.
Despite reassurances from airline representatives of SpiceJet that the flight wouldn’t be canceled, the situation remained tense. The airline’s Delhi-Patna flight, SG 8721, scheduled to arrive at 10:20 am, was delayed and landed at 7:42 pm. Consequently, passengers awaiting the Patna to Delhi flight, SG 8729, had to endure an entire day of waiting. The flight finally departed after 8:30 pm.
Rahul Sharma, a former legislator from Ghosi in Jahanabad district, was among more than a hundred passengers who remained stranded at Patna Airport due to the flight being rescheduled three times.
Moreover, the operational delays and cancellations of flights caused confrontations between staff and passengers at the counters of IndiGo and SpiceJet. Passengers were left uncertain about the Patna-Guwahati flight, scheduled to depart at night.
