Bihar Govt Begins Bidding for Modern IT Tower in Patna to Boost Tech Investments

Patna: The Bihar government has initiated plans to construct a modern IT tower in Patna as part of its efforts to promote the information technology sector in the state. The tower will be built on Gardanibagh-Khagaul Road, and the Building Construction Department has already begun the tender process to accelerate the project.

The move comes in response to growing investor interest, with more than 40 proposals received since the state implemented its new IT policy last year. The Bihar government is offering a range of incentives to attract investment, including discounts of up to 70% or other benefits for companies investing Rs 100 crore or more in the sector. Officials say this policy has led to a steady increase in IT investments in the state.

For the first phase of construction, 3.80 acres of land in Gardanibagh-Khagaul has been identified. The government is now seeking qualified firms to develop the best possible design for the building.

According to sources, the proposed IT tower will include modern office spaces, a conference hall, a fitness centre, and recreational facilities such as table tennis and a billiards hall. It will also feature a cafeteria with a capacity of 50 people, a crèche room, and ample parking.

The Building Construction Department has invited major firms to submit design concepts for the project. Sources indicate that construction work on the IT tower is expected to commence by the end of the year.
