Bihar Weather Update: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Several Districts on March 20

Patna, March 19, 2025: While a heatwave is expected to grip several parts of the country due to westerly winds, Bihar is likely to experience a drop in temperature and improved weather conditions.

According to the Meteorological Center in Patna, a cyclonic circulation developing in the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring relief from rising temperatures, leading to a 3 to 4-degree drop in maximum temperatures across the state. Additionally, several districts may witness rain and thunderstorms on March 20.

Rain Expected in 12 Districts

Light rain is likely in Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, and Jamui on March 20.

Hailstorm and Strong Thunderstorm Alert in 4 Districts

A more intense weather pattern is forecasted in Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gaya, and Nawada, where hailstorms, strong thunderstorms, and rain are expected. The wind speed in these regions could range between 20-30 km per hour. The Meteorological Department has advised farmers to remain cautious during this period.

Orange Alert Issued for Bihar Day

On the occasion of Bihar Day, westerly winds with speeds of 30-40 km per hour, accompanied by thunder and lightning, are expected to impact most parts of the state, including Patna. The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert warning residents to take necessary precautions.Â
