Patna : Bihar Diwas celebrations this year are set to be more vibrant and expansive, with a five-day cultural festival scheduled from March 22 to 26. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the event on March 22, with a range of performances and exhibitions planned across prominent venues in Patna.
A key highlight of the celebrations will be a drama festival at Premchand Rangshala, where five plays centred on women’s themes will be staged over five days. All lead roles in these performances will be played by women, while street plays with messages of social awareness will also be performed at various locations.
Cultural Events and Special Workshops
Cultural programmes featuring renowned artists from across the country will be held at Gandhi Maidan, Shri Krishna Memorial Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, and Premchand Rangshala. Music lovers can look forward to performances by celebrated artists such as Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Salman Ali, Hrithik Raj, and Pratibha Singh Baghel.
Special stalls will be set up by the Department of Art, Culture, and Youth at Gandhi Maidan to showcase the department’s achievements and future plans. In addition, a painting training workshop for Divyang (specially-abled) children will be conducted at Lalit Kala Bhavan, with participation from students across Patna. A workshop on the traditional Patna Kalam style of painting will also be a key attraction.
Focus on Inclusivity and Awareness
The event aims to highlight women’s contributions to society while promoting inclusivity through participation from diverse sections of the community. The inclusion of Divyang children and a focus on traditional art forms reflect an effort to merge cultural heritage with contemporary social themes.
