Opium Worth Rs 5 Crore Seized in Rohtas, Four Arrested

Rohtas / Patna : Police in Rohtas district have seized 74 kg of opium, valued at approximately Rs 5 crore, in a significant operation aimed at curbing drug trafficking. The consignment was intercepted at Dehri railway station, where four suspected smugglers were arrested as they attempted to transport the drugs to Ambala in Haryana.

Authorities believe the seizure may be linked to a wider network operating across multiple districts in Bihar. The arrested men are currently being interrogated to trace the source of the consignment and uncover possible connections with larger syndicates.

“We suspect that this operation is part of a bigger drug trafficking network spanning different regions,” said a senior police official. “Our priority is to dismantle this entire system and prevent such consignments from reaching their destinations.”

The police are now focused on identifying the masterminds behind the operation and uncovering any potential links to organised crime groups operating in other states.
