CPSE Vendor Development Programme and Industrial Exhibition Begins in Patna

Patna: The CPSE-level Vendor Development Programme cum Industrial Exhibition was inaugurated at the MSME-Development Office in Patna, running from March 21 to 22. Organized under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, the event was inaugurated by Sanjay Dayal, CMM, Eastern Railway, Hajipur. While addressing the gathering, he highlighted the vast opportunities for MSME enterprises in Bihar and stressed the importance of ensuring micro and small enterprises receive a fair share in central enterprise procurement.
Program coordinator Sanjeev Azad, Assistant Director, discussed the government’s target of procuring 25% of its annual purchases from micro and small enterprises. Special provisions for women and SC/ST entrepreneurs were emphasized, along with the urgent need for modernization to maintain competitiveness in international markets. The event also saw participation from key industry representatives, including Usha Jha, President of Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh, Suman Shekhar, General Secretary of Laghu Udyog Bharati, and Ashish Rohatgi, Vice President of Bihar Udyog Sangh.
Other dignitaries included Ila Mittal, Vice President of WECS, Patna, Shailesh Kumar, Deputy General Manager of NSIC, Patna, and Vivek Kumar, General Manager of the District Industries Center, Patna. Officials from Power Grid, IOCL, NSIC, and East Central Railway participated in technical sessions, providing insights into their procurement policies and vendor registration processes. The event also featured a B2B session where entrepreneurs engaged with industry leaders to explore business opportunities.
The program was conducted by Sanjeev Azad, Assistant Director Grade-I, while Sanjeev Kumar Verma, also an Assistant Director Grade-I, gave a detailed presentation on the Public Procurement Policy-2012. The event concluded with Verma delivering the vote of thanks, marking the success of the initiative aimed at strengthening MSME participation in central procurement and industrial development.
