Prostitution Racket Busted in Chhapra’s Rajput Hotel, 10 Arrested

Chhapra: In a major crackdown, police busted a prostitution racket operating from Rajput Hotel near Chhapra Junction in the Bhagwan Bazar police station area on Friday. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested four men, six women, and a hotel employee. The accused were caught in objectionable conditions inside the hotel rooms.

The arrested individuals include Tarun Devnath (hotel employee) from West Bengal, Sameer Ali, Ilyas, Roshan Kumar, and Vishal Kumar. The hotel has been sealed following legal action under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act.

Police Raid Following Secret Information

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Kumar Ashish, formed a special team after receiving intelligence about Sunil Kumar Sah, the operator of Rajput Hotel, allegedly running an illegal prostitution business. The raid team, led by Bhagwan Bazar Police Station Incharge Subhash Kumar, included Sudhir Kumar, Priya Kumari, and other officers.

Previous Raids on Sex Rackets in Chhapra

This is not the first time such an operation has been conducted in the region. Several prostitution rackets have been busted in the past year in Chhapra:

  • January 16, 2025: A sex racket was busted at Khana Junction Restaurant in the Mufassil police station area.
  • January 25, 2025: A similar operation was conducted at Fauji Hotel near Chhapra Junction, leading to arrests.
  • September 7, 2024: Police raided a restaurant in Janata Bazar, arresting two young men with multiple women.
  • May 11, 2024: A major prostitution racket was exposed at Krishna Guest House, where over a dozen individuals were arrested.
  • August 18, 2024: A sex racket was uncovered at Samant Marriage Hall cum Restaurant in the Janata Bazar area.

The police have intensified surveillance on hotels and lodges in the city to curb illegal activities. Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help maintain law and order.
