IIM Bodh Gaya Empowers NTPC Executives in Pioneering Training Program
Bodh Gaya: In a significant stride towards fostering leadership and innovation in the corporate sector, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya concluded an intensive training program for approximately 60 executives from the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd on Monday. The two batches, spanning from November 20 to December 4, marked a pivotal collaboration between the premier institute and the renowned public sector company.
Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya emphasized the pivotal role of middle management, labeling them as the nation’s most crucial resource. Positioned as future leaders who will drive the economy, the director stressed the significance of guiding this cohort in the right direction as the nation enters a pivotal decade.
Executives participating in the program shared transformative experiences during their stay at IIM Bodh Gaya, emphasizing the profound impact on their perspectives. The serene campus, situated in the land of enlightenment, facilitated a holistic understanding of organizational dynamics beyond their specific domains.
The comprehensive training curriculum included sessions on Reading and Interpreting Financial Statements, Costing, Data Analysis, Creativity & Innovation, Design Thinking, Team Playing, Mindfulness at the Workplace, Total Quality Management, Written and Spoken Business Communication, and Legal Aspects in the Energy Sector, among others. This diverse exposure provided participants with a broad spectrum of knowledge and perspectives.
A notable aspect of the NTPC Ltd. Training Program was the outbound trip, offering participants from various states such as Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Orissa, an enriching experience exploring Bihar’s treasures. Destinations like Rajgir and Nalanda provided historical insights, with the story of Dashrath Manjhi, the ‘Mountain-Man’, and the rich heritage of Nalanda University serving as both inspiring and motivational narratives for the executives.
NTPC Ltd. is a public sector company that produces the largest amount of thermal energy in the country and is shifting towards renewable energy sources to mitigate the risks of depleting fossil fuels.
IIM Bodh Gaya, rapidly gaining recognition as a center of excellence for executive training, has carved a niche in providing impactful programs for professionals across various sectors and hierarchical levels. Noteworthy past engagements include training senior officials from the State Health Society, Bihar, administrators from the Bihar Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development (BIPARD), senior officials from the Water Resource Department, Bihar and employees of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited. The institute has also played a pivotal role in empowering over 1000 grassroots entrepreneurs through the Mukhya Mantri Udyami Yojana.
