Bhagalpur’s Development Projects Get Boost as Bihar Chief Secretary Reviews Progress

Bhagalpur / Patna : Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena arrived in Bhagalpur on Friday to assess the progress of key infrastructure projects, including the proposed Vikramshila Central University and the Vikramshila Ganga Bridge. His visit is expected to accelerate development work in the region.

Amrit Lal, who flew to Bhagalpur from Patna by helicopter, was given a guard of honour upon his arrival at Bhagalpur Airport. He was accompanied by senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Land Reforms Department Deepak Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department Mihir Kumar Singh, Panchayati Raj Department Secretary Divesh Sehra, and Education Department Secretary Ajay Yadav. Bhagalpur District Magistrate Naval Kishore Chaudhary, Range Inspector General Vivek Kumar, and SSP Hridaykant were also present to receive him.

Inspection of University and Infrastructure Projects

The Chief Secretary proceeded to Kahalgaon to inspect the proposed site and memorial of Vikramshila Central University. District Magistrate Chaudhary accompanied him on this site visit. Amrit Lal Meena also reviewed the alignment of the Pirpainti Railway Bridge, where he was joined by project engineers and agency representatives for an on-site evaluation. A review meeting was scheduled at the project office following the inspection.

Ganga Bridge and Road Projects Under Review

The Chief Secretary’s itinerary also included an inspection of the ongoing work at the Vikramshila Parallel Bridge over the Ganga. Additionally, he reviewed the progress of road projects in Bhagalpur, the Smart City initiative, and the fulfilment of promises made during the Chief Minister’s Pragati Yatra. Senior officials and project managers participated in the review meeting to discuss the pace of work and address any bottlenecks.

Visit to Madhepura for Further Assessment

After completing his review in Bhagalpur, Amrit Lal Meena is set to travel to Bihpur and Phulaut in Madhepura by helicopter. He will inspect the project sites there before returning to Patna.
