JD (U) MP’s Praise for Modi Sparks Intra-Party Turmoil, Calls for Resignation Intensify
Patna: In a surprising turn of events, JD (U) MP Sunil Kumar Pintu extended congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their victories in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Pintu’s endorsement of Modi’s leadership and the BJP’s success has stirred controversy within the party, leading to calls for his resignation.
On Monday, Pintu expressed his admiration for PM Modi, stating, “Modi hai to mumkin hai. Modi hai to guarantee hai. There is a guarantee of Narendra Modi winning the elections in the country. The people have faith in the guarantee of Narendra Modi, and it is reflected through these results.”
Having previously been associated with the BJP, Pintu asserted that the BJP’s historic wins in the three states showcase the electorate’s unwavering faith in Narendra Modi and his leadership. This endorsement, however, has prompted strong reactions from within the JD (U).
Responding to Pintu’s praise for Modi and the BJP, JD (U) MLC Neeraj Kumar called for Pintu’s resignation.
“Conducting road shows in Telangana while neglecting to visit Manipur—yet, you still find Modi to be ‘Mumkin.’ Why not step down and align yourself with the BJP? Do not relish your time in office. With the Lok Sabha election just a few months away, cease displaying a keen desire for the MP chair,” Neeraj said.
The JD (U) MLC urged Pintu to resign and join the BJP if his loyalty lies with them, warning against enjoying the benefits of his government position.
