Bihar: ECR GM Khandelwal inspects Forbesganj-Saharsa railway section including Kosi Bridge

HAJIPUR – General Manager Anil Kumar Khandelwal undertook an inspection of various stations and the Kosi Bridge within the Forbesganj-Saharsa railway section on Monday. Concurrently, he assessed the progress of the ongoing gauge conversion work on the Jhanjharpur-Laukaha Bazar railway section.

Speaking to the media persons in Forbesganj, the General Manager emphasized that providing maximum facilities to all passengers is a top priority.

The inspection began with an assessment of the cleanliness of passenger facilities, the panel room, relay room, etc., at Lalitgram station on the Forbesganj-Saharsa railway section. Subsequently, Pratapganj station and its surrounding area were inspected, covering various aspects such as cleanliness, passenger convenience, safety, goods shed, etc. Following this, Saraigarh station underwent scrutiny, focusing on passenger facilities. During the inspection, special attention was given to the Kosi Bridge (Bridge No. 10) situated between the Saraigarh-Nirmali railway section, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Continuing the sequence, the General Manager inspected the ongoing gauge conversion work on the Jhanjharpur-Laukaha Bazar railway section. This involved assessing the progress of the gauge conversion work at Khutauna and Laukaha Bazar stations, including the under-construction station building and platform. Notably, the gauge conversion project for the 43.6 km long Jhanjharpur-Laukaha Bazar route has completed the gauge conversion work for the Jhanjharpur-Maharail-Vachspatinagar (20.6 km) railway section.

Throughout the inspection, Divisional Railway Manager of Samastipur Division, Vinay Srivastava, and other officers from the Headquarters and Division were present.
