Patna: Acclaimed Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee was given a rousing reception as he returned to his native village in Bihar’s West Champaran district on Wednesday night. Crowds gathered eagerly to catch a glimpse of the star, who arrived from Mumbai via Gorakhpur, and the atmosphere was one of celebration.

Bajpayee, known for his powerful performances in Indian cinema, was welcomed with traditional garlands and the beat of drums. Embracing his roots, he spoke in the local dialect, rekindled friendships from his childhood, and engaged with villagers in a display of heartfelt nostalgia.

During his visit, the actor stopped at the Valmikinagar Barrage, but it was his impromptu drive in an old jeep that particularly delighted the onlookers. The sight of the Bollywood star behind the wheel of a rustic vehicle sent a wave of excitement through the village.

Bajpayee also took time to listen to the concerns of the residents, discussing changes in the village and assuring them of his support. He visited farmland, met with local farmers, and joined elders in the traditional chaupal gathering, reminiscing about his early years.

Reflecting on the progress made in the village, Bajpayee expressed his satisfaction. “The development of villages is true progress. If people remain connected to their roots, society as a whole will move forward,” he said.
