Bihar: Didi Ki Rasoi’s Success in East Champaran Spurs Statewide Expansion
PATNA – In a significant move to enhance healthcare services in Bihar, the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led government has allocated over 1 crore rupees for the expansion of ‘Didi Ki Rasoi’ – a unique initiative aimed at providing nutritious meals to patients in the state’s hospitals.
The initiative is set to open in five sub-divisional hospitals across three districts in Bihar. The districts earmarked for this expansion include East Champaran, Aurangabad, and Araria. The decision to introduce Didi Ki Rasoi follows Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s directive to ensure that patients admitted to government hospitals receive healthy meals.
With an initial focus on East Champaran, Didi Ki Rasoi has proven successful, prompting the government to extend the initiative gradually to cover all districts, sub-district hospitals, and government medical college hospitals.
The Bihar Medical Services and Infrastructure Corporation Limited recently proposed initiating Didi Ki Rasoi in three sub-district hospitals in East Champaran: Pakridayal, Chakiya, and Areraj. The Health Department swiftly approved funds for constructing dedicated Didi Ki Rasoi buildings after evaluating the proposal.
The allocation of funds for this expansion is as follows: East Champaran receives 20.9 lakh rupees per hospital, totaling 60.27 lakh. Similarly, Aurangabad is allocated 22.45 lakh for Daudnagar SDH, and Forbesganj SDH in Araria district receives 22.23 lakh rupees.
Didi Ki Rasoi not only addresses the nutritional needs of patients but also reflects the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in Bihar.
