Patna: The Bihar Tourism Department is set to host a three-day cultural festival — Vaishali Mahotsav — beginning Thursday, aimed at celebrating the historical and spiritual significance of Vaishali. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary will inaugurate the event, while Tourism Minister Raju Kumar Singh will preside over the opening ceremony.
The festival will also be attended by Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and local MPs Chirag Paswan, Nityanand Rai, Motilal Prasad, Veena Devi, Upendra Kushwaha, along with other public representatives. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 6 pm, followed by a dance drama based on the life of Lord Mahavir at 7 pm.
A musical line-up featuring top Indian artists will add to the festivities. Bollywood playback singer B. Praak will perform on the first evening, followed by Maithili folk sensation Maithili Thakur on the second day. The final day will feature a live performance by Shraddha Pandit. Local artists will also showcase regional talent during the festival.
Tourism Director Udayan Mishra emphasized Vaishali’s deep cultural and historical roots and said the department is committed to promoting the region as a prominent tourist destination. He urged locals to participate actively in the event and rediscover their rich heritage through music, drama and celebration.
