MUNGER – Aman Kumar, who was arrested in a liquor-related case, was found dead by hanging in Munger’s police custody between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. 

The excise and police officials shifted him to a hospital, where he was declared deceased by attending medical staff.  

Superintendent of Excise Police Suman Kumar infored that Tarapur Excise Police had detained six individuals from Fasiyabad on Thursday night. Four persons were booked for alcohol consumption, and two in smuggling case. All detainees were held at Munger Excise Police Station.

Officials said that Aman Kumar, a 22-year-old resident of Shampur, Munger, took his own life by hanging in the toilet using a towel. The post-mortem was conducted at Sadar Hospital in the presence of SDO and family members.

Despite family claims of death resulting from police brutality, Aman’s body showed no visible injury marks. The exact cause of death will be established through the postmortem report, currently being arranged by the excise police.
