ED Raid: Bihar Topper Scam Accused Bacha Rai Faces Heat After Grabbing Land Attached By ED
HAJIPUR – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is raiding two locations of Bhagwanpur resident Amit Kumar alias Bacha Rai, accused in Bihar’s topper scam.
Since Saturday morning, ED raids are going on in Vishun Rai College and Vishun Rai Teacher Training College located at Kiratpur Rajaram in Bhagwanpur. Many senior ED officials are conducting a thorough investigation in both the institutes.
Police forces have been deployed outside as it has come to light that the ED seized approximately 42 decimal land belonging to accused Bacha Rai. The confiscated land was grabbed by Bacha Rai, prompting the ED to request the Bhagwanpur police station to vacate the seized property.
When the matter was not resolved, the ED lodged an FIR against Bacha Rai at Bhagwanpur police station on November 18, charging him with land grabbing. Subsequently, on Saturday morning, the ED initiated raids at two locations associated with Bacha Rai.
The Vishun Rai College in Bhagwanpur, Vaishali district gained sudden prominence in 2016 when its student Ruby Rai secured the top position in the 2016 Inter Arts examination.
Following her media interview, where she referred to Political Science as ‘Practical Science’ and claimed that cooking was taught in the subject, controversy erupted. In response, the government formed an inquiry committee, leading to the gradual unveiling of layers in the scam.
Bacha Rai was alleged to have played a significant role in the topper scam. Consequently, he was arrested by the police, and currently, Bacha Rai is out on bail.
