Patna : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the ambitious ‘Dr Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan’ on the occasion of Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary to deliver essential services to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities across the state. The campaign was inaugurated at Patna’s Adhiveshan Bhavan, where the Chief Minister flagged off IEC publicity vans that will travel to all 38 districts to spread awareness about government schemes.
The campaign focuses on taking 22 major government services directly to over 60,000 SC/ST hamlets in Bihar through special camps. These include benefits under schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, ration card distribution, pension plans, skill training, education enrolment, MGNREGA job cards, and banking and insurance services.
Camps will be held every Wednesday and Saturday, with each block covering half of its panchayats on the respective days. The camps will be organised by Panchayat Secretaries and Vikas Mitras, while district magistrates will oversee the entire implementation.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, “Our goal is that no beneficiary should have to run from office to office. The government will now go directly to every village and every doorstep.”
This initiative aims to promote inclusive governance and ensure equitable access to welfare schemes, reinforcing the state’s commitment to social justice and the empowerment of marginalised communities.
