Bhabhua/Patna: Popular Bhojpuri singer and actor Ritesh Pandey has officially announced his entry into politics, signalling his intention to contest the 2025 Bihar assembly elections.
The announcement came during the inauguration of a public library in Bhabua, Kaimur, held on the occasion of Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. Pandey, addressing the gathering, said he had spent the last year meeting people across the region and preparing for an active political role.
“I have taken the decision to enter politics,” he declared. “It will soon be clear from which party I will contest the elections.”
While he did not specify a party affiliation, the singer hinted at launching development initiatives in the Gad Bhabua assembly constituency. “If the people support me, there will be a new dawn in this area by the end of 2025,” he said, promising to unveil detailed plans in the coming months.
Pandey also described the library’s inauguration on Ambedkar Jayanti as a moment of personal pride, linking education and empowerment with the principles of the Dalit icon.
