Campa Cola to Invest Rs 1,000 Crore in First Bihar Unit, Plant to Come Up in Begusarai

Patna: Campa Cola will set up its plant across 35 acres in Begusarai, the state’s Industry Department confirmed on Tuesday. The proposal was cleared by the Project Clearance Committee of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), signalling a significant boost to the state’s manufacturing sector.
This marks a key milestone for Bihar’s industrial landscape, particularly for Begusarai, which already hosts operations of another soft drink company. Officials say the Campa Cola unit will help generate employment and attract ancillary businesses to the region.
In the same meeting, BIADA also cleared land for a cattle feed manufacturing unit to be set up in Muzaffarpur, with an investment of Rs 20 crore. However, other projects approved during the session involved relatively smaller investments.
This latest round of clearances comes amid increasing interest from major corporate players in Bihar. Last year, the Adani Group announced a significant investment to set up a cement plant in Varsaliganj, Nawada, on the site of a defunct sugar mill. Additionally, proposals from several IT companies are under consideration, indicating a broader diversification of Bihar’s industrial base.
State officials view the Campa Cola investment as a strong indicator of growing confidence in Bihar’s improving industrial climate.
