Patna : Fuel prices in Bihar held steady today, providing temporary relief to commuters and transport operators amid continuing fluctuations in global crude oil markets.
As of today, petrol is retailing at Rs 106.11 per litre in Patna, showing no change from previous rates. Across Bihar, the average petrol price stands at Rs 106.94 per litre. These consistent rates come even as international oil prices continue to respond to geopolitical uncertainty and demand shifts.
Diesel prices also remained relatively flat. In Patna, diesel is priced at Rs 92.42 per litre, a minimal dip of Rs 0.01 from yesterday. The average diesel price across the state is Rs 93.80 per litre. Despite recent volatility in crude prices, local diesel rates have shown minor day-to-day adjustments without major swings.
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), an increasingly popular alternative fuel, is also holding firm. In Patna, the price of CNG stands at Rs 84.54 per kg — unchanged over the past 10 days. The average rate across Bihar is around Rs 88.23 per kg.
Experts point to local taxation, freight charges, and buffer stock mechanisms as key reasons behind the price stability, even as international benchmarks for crude oil remain volatile.
With fuel prices being revised daily, consumers are encouraged to monitor rates regularly. Petrol pumps across urban and rural Bihar continue to operate under the dynamic pricing system linked to global crude and currency movements.
