Gaya / Patna : Twin brothers Santosh Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar, from the Nai Godam Punjabi Colony in Gaya, have captured the imagination of the public with a unique initiative to bring together twin siblings from across India. The two brothers, affectionately known as Chhote and Bade, are in the process of organizing a “Twins’ Samagam” (gathering) set to take place next month. Their ambitious plan aims to unite twins—whether brothers, sisters, or brother-sister pairs—into a society that celebrates their shared experiences and creates a sense of community among them.

A Twin Society in the Making

The idea for the gathering stemmed from the brothers’ shared hobby: a fascination with twins. Having noticed the lack of a platform for twins to connect, Santosh and Ashutosh set out to create one. Their vision is to bring together over 1,000 twins from all parts of India, including places like Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. This gathering is poised to make history by becoming the first of its kind in Bihar, and if it meets the brothers’ goals, it may even set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of twins.

Santosh Kumar, better known as Chhote, explained that the idea struck them suddenly, but once they set their minds to it, the momentum built quickly. “We realized there’s a large community of twins who don’t have a space to connect. This gathering will give them a platform to meet, share experiences, and form lasting bonds,” said Santosh.

The event, which will take place on May 10, 2025, has already garnered significant interest. As of now, about 100 twins have expressed their intention to attend, and the number is expected to grow. The excitement surrounding the event has been fueled by social media, with more and more people across the country reaching out to participate.

A Chance to Make History

The gathering is not only a social event but also a way to break records and create a lasting legacy. Santosh hopes that the event will go down in history as the largest twin gathering ever. “This is probably the first twin gathering in Bihar. We’re aiming for a record-breaking turnout,” he said, emphasizing the ambition behind the project.

Both brothers believe this event is more than just a gathering; it’s a celebration of the unique bond shared by twins. Ashutosh Kumar, the elder of the two, reflected on the constant mix-ups that occur due to their striking similarities. “There was an incident where I was asked to testify during a fight. The crowd assumed I was there from the start, but I had just arrived. It was actually my younger brother, Santosh, who was present from the beginning. The confusion was so much that people couldn’t stop laughing when I clarified,” said Ashutosh, chuckling at the memories of their often humorous encounters.

Building a Platform for Twins

The ultimate goal of the event is to create a platform where twins can connect and build a community. Santosh mentioned that the idea has been received with great enthusiasm, with many twins already sending in their photos and videos via WhatsApp in anticipation. “There is no established society for twins in India. This event will give them a chance to form their own network, where they can bond over their unique experiences,” he added.

The Kumar brothers are not doing this alone; local social workers and the wider community have rallied behind them to ensure the success of the event. The preparation has also seen support from the larger Gaya community, with many eager to welcome twins from all over India.

A Celebration of the Twin Connection

This event is more than just a gathering—it’s a celebration of the bond that only twins can understand. Whether it’s the funny mix-ups, the shared experiences, or the deep connection that often goes unnoticed by others, the “Twins’ Samagam” promises to be a landmark event. For Santosh and Ashutosh, it’s not just about the numbers or the record-breaking attempt; it’s about fostering a sense of unity among those who share a unique and powerful bond—twinship.

The “Twins’ Samagam” in Gaya is poised to be a historic occasion, uniting twin brothers, sisters, and sibling pairs from across the country to share in a celebration of their unique identity.
