LPG Price Hiked in Bihar: Domestic Cylinder Now Costs Rs 942.50 in Patna

Patna : Residents of Bihar are now paying more for their cooking gas as the price of the Domestic LPG (14.2 kg) cylinder has risen to Rs942.50 in Patna. This marks a Rs50 increase from last month’s rate of Rs892.50. The hike, implemented in April 2025, is the sharpest surge in the past 12 months.

According to market data, the domestic LPG price has been on a steady upward trend, witnessing an overall increase of Rs50 from May 2024 to April 2025. While prices remained relatively stable over the months, April saw the most significant jump in recent times, affecting household budgets across the state.

Meanwhile, the price of the Commercial LPG (19 kg) cylinder in Patna is currently Rs2,014.00. Although commercial LPG rates fluctuate frequently based on global fuel prices and tax changes, the domestic hike is a matter of concern for the common man.

The price revision, as usual, is driven by changes in international LPG rates and the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Consumers are now calling for government intervention or subsidies to ease the burden amid rising inflation and living costs.
