Gold Prices Skyrocket in Patna, 24-Carat Crosses Rs98,000 Amid Global Surge

Patna : Gold prices in Patna have surged sharply, mirroring a global rally driven by economic uncertainty and increased investor interest. On Monday, the price of 24-carat gold in the city touched Rs 98,400 per 10 grams, rising by Rs 770 from the previous day. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold is retailing at Rs 90,200 per 10 grams, up by Rs 700.

The price hike is part of a broader international trend, with global gold rates hitting record highs. Experts attribute the surge to ongoing geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressures, and increased gold purchases by institutional investors, particularly from China. As traditional markets remain volatile, investors are turning to gold as a safe-haven asset.

In Patna, local jewellers are witnessing increased footfall ahead of the wedding season. Buyers are flocking to stores, hoping to invest before prices climb further. “Customers are concerned that gold may cross Rs 1 lakh per 10 grams soon, so they’re purchasing now,” said a local jeweller in Boring Road.

Financial advisors suggest that consumers approach investments cautiously, recommending staggered purchases to balance risk. With forecasts hinting at further price escalation in the coming months, many in Bihar are keeping a close eye on the market for future buying opportunities.
