Madhubani: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday delivered a fierce and emotionally charged address from Madhubani, vowing unrelenting pursuit and punishment of those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of over two dozen civilians, including an Intelligence Bureau officer from Bihar.

Speaking at the National Panchayati Raj Day event in Lohana North Gram Panchayat, PM Modi declared that India would not rest until every terrorist and their backers were brought to justice. “From the soil of Bihar, I tell the world—India will identify, trap and punish every terrorist and their perpetrators. We will pursue them to the end of the earth,” the Prime Minister said to thunderous applause.

He opened his address by asking the gathering to observe one minute of silence for the victims of the April 22 attack, which he described as “an assault on the soul of Bharat.”

“Some were Marathi, some Gujarati, some Tamil—and one was a son of Bihar. These were not just tourists; they were citizens of India. The entire nation is grieving with the families who lost a son, a brother, a partner,” Modi said.

Promising justice beyond imagination, the Prime Minister vowed, “It is time to destroy the last remnants of terrorism. The willpower of 140 crore Indians will break its very backbone.”

Modi thanked world leaders for expressing solidarity with India, stating that “every country that believes in humanity stands with us today.” He emphasised that peace and security are fundamental to India’s development journey and called for a united national resolve in the fight against terrorism.

The Prime Minister’s comments come in the wake of a deadly attack in Baisaran Valley, a popular tourist destination in Kashmir, where heavily armed militants opened fire on civilians, killing 26, including tourists from multiple Indian states and two foreign nationals.
