Patna: All Pakistani nationals who were visiting Bihar on short-term visas have left the state ahead of the April 27 deadline, the Bihar government said on Saturday.
According to official data, 19 Pakistani nationals who had travelled to different districts on visit and tourist visas since January 2025 departed either on April 25 or earlier. “Districts have reported that no more Pakistani nationals are left in the state who are yet to return,” said Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department. He added that only Pakistani nationals on medical or long-term visas (LTVs) remain, with medical visas valid only until April 29.
The departures were reported across several districts. Three Pakistani nationals who had come to Siwan left on April 25, while another visiting Patna departed on April 21. Five who had travelled to Darbhanga exited the state on April 20, while another five who visited Saran district left on March 24. A Pakistani national visiting Begusarai departed on March 15, and four others who had travelled to Muzaffarpur and Jamui left in late February.
The state government had on Friday directed district officials, including District Magistrates and police chiefs, to ensure strict compliance with the Centre’s directive revoking all valid visas issued to Pakistani nationals from April 27. The move comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, after which the Centre suspended visa services for Pakistani nationals.
Medical visas, however, will remain valid until April 29, according to the Information and Public Relations Department of the state government.
