Museum director Anjani Kumar Singh said the tender process to appoint an agency to manage online ticketing is underway and will be finalised in May. Once operational, visitors will be able to purchase tickets in advance through an online platform.

Under the new pricing structure, adults will be charged Rs 100 for entry, while children up to the age of 12 and students (upon showing valid ID) will pay Rs 50. School groups will benefit from a discounted rate of Rs 25 per student. Foreign visitors will be required to pay Rs 500 for entry. An additional Rs 100 fee will apply for those wishing to bring a camera into the museum for photography.

The Bihar Museum will continue to operate from 10am to 5pm, while its in-house restaurant will be open from 10:30am to 7pm.

In a significant cultural development, the museum is also set to host the Museum Biennale on the occasion of its foundation day. The event will feature exhibitions of rare artefacts and panel discussions on historical and cultural subjects. Representatives from museums in South Africa, Brazil, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and other countries are expected to participate, marking an important international collaboration.

The museum’s expansion into digital ticketing and global cultural engagement reflects Bihar’s ongoing efforts to boost tourism and cultural exchange.
