Bihar Government Transfers 10 IAS Officers, Sanjay Agarwal Relieved From Transport Department

The Bihar government has reshuffled 10 senior IAS officers, with major changes in the Transport Department and new additional charges across key portfolios.

Patna: The Bihar government has transferred 10 senior IAS officers in a major bureaucratic reshuffle, with several also receiving additional responsibilities. The most significant change has come in the Transport Department.

Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, who served as Transport Secretary for an extended period, has been replaced by 2006 batch IAS officer Sandeep Kumar R Pudkalkatti. Sandeep Kumar, who already holds charge of the Road Construction Department, will now oversee the Transport Department as well. Agarwal is presently posted as secretary in agriculture department.

In another key move, 1990 batch IAS officer Chaitanya Prasad has been assigned additional responsibility as Chairman of the Revenue Council, replacing KK Pathak, who has moved to a central government appointment.

Pankaj Kumar, 1997 batch officer currently heading the Public Health Engineering Department, has been given additional charge of the Food and Consumer Protection Department. He will also serve as Managing Director of the Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation.

Meanwhile, 1998 batch officer Naramdeshwar Lal, presently posted as the Principal Secretary of the Mines and Geology Department, who was also Managing Director of the Mines Corporation, has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Minor Water Resources Department.
