Patna: Bihar, for the first time, is set to host the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, a significant milestone in the state’s sporting journey. Determined to turn the occasion into a showcase of hospitality and organisational finesse, the state government has laid out extensive plans to ensure that athletes not only compete at their best but also leave with memories of warm care and efficiency.
At the heart of these preparations is the newly inaugurated Bodhgaya Guest House in Gaya, unveiled by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, which will serve as a primary accommodation hub for athletes participating in the games. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister took stock of the arrangements, emphasizing that “the safety and convenience of players is of utmost importance,” and that the state would ensure a smooth and supportive environment for competition.
Designed with athletes’ needs in mind, the guest house offers secure and comfortable lodging, catering to both players and their support staff. From rest areas to training spaces, the facility has been built to complement their performance schedules without disruption.
But the efforts go far beyond a single site. The Khelo India Youth Games 2025 will be staged across five cities in Bihar — Patna, Rajgir (Nalanda), Bhagalpur, Gaya, and Begusarai — each preparing to host different sports. In Rajgir, a newly refurbished sports complex built to international standards will witness high-profile contests, while Bhagalpur’s Sandis Compound will host badminton and archery events, and Begusarai will see spirited football matches.
Across all venues, arrangements have been made for quality accommodation, nutritious food, 24/7 medical support, and robust security for athletes and officials. These measures aim not only to support players’ performance but also to ensure that their experience of Bihar is one of pride and positivity.
Beyond logistics, the hosting of the Games is expected to spark a deeper sporting culture in Bihar. With local talent getting the chance to compete and connect with national-level athletes, the event has the potential to inspire a new generation of sportspersons.
