NEET UG 2025 Concludes Amid Tight Security and Cyber Fraud Warnings

Patna: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025 concluded on Sunday at 5pm, with over 1.19 lakh candidates appearing across 125 examination centres in Bihar, including 96 in the state capital Patna. The nationwide medical entrance test was held under heightened security amid concerns of misinformation and fraud.

In the lead-up to the examination, the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police issued a public notice cautioning candidates and their families against cyber scams. The notice warned of fraudsters making deceptive calls and promising leaked answer sheets in exchange for money. Authorities reiterated that such rumours were baseless and aimed to exploit students.

To ensure the integrity of the exam, biometric verification was made mandatory for entry at all centres. Videography and surveillance through CCTV cameras were conducted at each venue to monitor activities and prevent malpractice.

Bihar Police remained on alert throughout the day. In addition to the cyber fraud alert, local law enforcement coordinated with education officials to manage crowd control and security outside key centres in Patna and other cities.

NEET UG, which determines admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in India, saw students and parents across the state navigating a day marked by anxiety, vigilance and hope.
