Arawal/ Patna: An arrest warrant has been issued against Dr Inamul Haque Megnu, the current Superintendent of Police (SP) in Bihar’s Arwal district, in connection with a case of alleged verbal abuse and misconduct involving a lawyer during his previous posting in Kishanganj.
The warrant was issued by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Kishanganj following a hearing in case number C-113/2023. The complaint was originally filed on February 10, 2023 by local advocate Chhavilal Singh, who alleges that SP Megnu called him to his office on February 8, 2023 and subjected him to verbal abuse and insults.
The court has now directed the Sadar police station to take necessary action on the bailable arrest warrant. Kishanganj SP Sagar Kumar confirmed the order, stating that police have been instructed to proceed in accordance with the court’s directive.
However, SP Megnu, currently posted in Arwal, told reporters he had no knowledge of the complaint or the warrant. “I have not received any official communication regarding this matter,” he said.
