New Delhi: The organising committee of the National Intercollege Crossword Expedition (NICE) 2025 has announced a revised schedule for this year’s competition, including the addition of a second practice round and an extended registration deadline.
The decision to introduce an extra practice round—now scheduled for May 11—follows an outpouring of positive feedback and requests from students, mentors and institutions nationwide. The organisers said the new round will offer participants more time to hone their skills ahead of the competitive stages of the event.
The updated schedule now begins with two practice rounds on May 4 and May 11, followed by the four competitive rounds—N-Round on May 18, I-Round on May 25, C-Round on June 1, and E-Round on June 8. All rounds will take place from 10.30am to 5pm IST.
Open to students enrolled in colleges and higher education institutions across India, the competition aims to foster logical reasoning, language proficiency, and lateral thinking through the intellectually stimulating medium of cryptic crosswords.
With the changes in place, the last date for registration has been extended to May 17. Students can register for free at nice.crypticsingh.com/register.
Having seen participation from lakhs of students in previous editions, NICE 2025 continues its mission to build a vibrant crossword-solving culture on Indian campuses.
