Patna’s New Multi-Modal Hub to Open on May 17: CM Nitish Kumar to Inaugurate Facility with Subway, Parking, Pink Toilets

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to inaugurate a state-of-the-art multi-modal hub and subway near Patna Junction on Friday, May 17, in a major step towards easing traffic congestion in the city.

Constructed under the Patna Smart City project, the three-storey hub will offer facilities including multi-level car parking, pink toilets for women, restaurants, bank ATMs, and essential retail shops. All city buses headed for Patna Junction will now operate from this hub, with autos also available for local routes.

A 440-metre subway, equipped with escalators, lifts, and travelators, will connect Patna Junction to the hub, improving pedestrian access and streamlining urban mobility.

District Magistrate Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, Municipal Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar, and other senior officials inspected the site on Thursday evening to oversee final preparations.

The facility is expected to open for public use from Saturday, 18 May. Authorities say it will offer significant relief from chronic traffic jams around the busy railway station area, long considered one of Patna’s worst bottlenecks.
