Patna: Gold rates in the Bihar capital showed little movement on May 17, 2025, holding firm amid steady demand and stabilising global trends. According to market updates, 22-carat gold is trading at Rs 87,250 per 10 grams, while 24-carat gold stands at Rs 95,180 per 10 grams—unchanged from Friday’s close.
The market has stabilised following a mid-week rise triggered by gains in the international bullion market and currency adjustments. Jewellers across Patna reported sustained footfall, with wedding-related purchases and pre-bookings continuing unabated.
“While there’s no major spike, the demand has remained strong due to the wedding season. Buyers are cautious but committed,” said a leading jeweller in Patna’s Hathwa Market.
Industry experts suggest that while global cues are currently subdued, any geopolitical or monetary movement could affect prices in the coming weeks. Consumers are advised to compare daily rates and buy certified hallmarked gold for quality assurance.
