Patna: The Department of Revenue and Land Reforms has announced a final deadline for striking revenue employees to return to duty by 5pm on May 30. Those who comply will be granted earned leave for the strike period and their services will be regularised. This directive was issued through a letter by department secretary Jai Singh to all district magistrates across the state.
This announcement follows an earlier press release dated May 21, which urged all striking employees to resume work within three days. According to officials, several workers have since ended their protest and reported back to their assigned posts. However, a significant number of employees continue to stay off duty, prompting this last warning from the state.
For those who continue their strike beyond the “May 30 deadline, the government has made its stance clear. Salaries will be withheld under the “no work, no pay” policy, and the question of regularising their services will be revisited at a later time. More pressingly, disciplinary proceedings will be initiated immediately against non-compliant staff. Failure to return government-issued laptops to the respective offices could also lead to action under the Public Demand Recovery (PDR) Act.
Secretary Singh has asked all district magistrates to submit detailed reports on the action taken against non-returning employees without delay.
