Fifth Chinese National Caught at Indo-Nepal Border in One Month, Raises Security Alarm

Raxaul: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans on Sunday apprehended a Chinese national attempting to illegally enter India from Nepal at the Maitri Bridge in Raxaul. The foreigner, identified as Hu Jesi, was caught without a valid visa or travel document. He was accompanied by a Nepali guide Shyam Kumar Dahal who was allegedly facilitating the illegal entry.
During routine checks at the border, SSB personnel stopped the duo for verification. Upon inspection, it was found that the Chinese citizen lacked any valid documents permitting his entry into India. Both individuals were immediately taken into custody for questioning.
Probe Underway to Uncover Possible Network
Security agencies are now investigating the role of the Nepali guide and whether this incident is linked to a larger network involved in cross-border illegal activities. Officials are probing how the guide became involved and whether he had prior connections with similar operations.
SSB officials confirmed that both detainees are being interrogated, and intelligence agencies have been alerted to trace any broader implications of the incident.
Series of Arrests Raise Red Flags
This is the fifth such case in the past one month where Chinese nationals have been caught at the India-Nepal border without proper documentation. The repeated breaches have raised concerns among security agencies.
In response, border patrolling and surveillance have been significantly intensified. SSB and other agencies are closely monitoring all suspicious movements along the porous Indo-Nepal border.
