Mutton shop owner shot dead in Muzaffarpur

MUZAFFARPUR – A mutton businessman Mohd. Afroz was ruthlessly attacked and shot dead by unidentified miscreants in the Rambagh area of Mithanpura on Wednesday morning. The fearless assailants confronted Afroz, riding a bike, and fired a fatal shot at his head, causing him to collapse on the spot.

The incident triggered immediate chaos in the locality, with enraged locals blocking roads and setting tires ablaze to express their anger and frustration. The sound of the gunshot attracted a crowd, and tensions ran high as people demanded swift action and justice for the heinous crime.

Upon receiving the information, police personnel from multiple stations, led by city ASP Awadhesh Saroj Dixit, swiftly reached the scene to control the agitated crowd. Their efforts helped restore order, and traffic resumed after the initial disruption caused by the spontaneous protest.

The deceased’s lifeless body was taken into custody and sent to SKMCH for post-mortem. CCTV camera footage captured images of the assailants, prompting the police to launch raids for their immediate arrest. City ASP Dixit informed the media that the attackers, riding a motorcycle, targeted Afroz, and the motive behind the attack is under investigation.

The police are closely examining the CC camera footage to identify and track down the culprits. Local authorities are working to record statements from the victim’s relatives to piece together the circumstances leading to the fatal attack. Once the statements are recorded, an FIR will be registered, and further legal actions will be initiated to bring the perpetrators to justice.
