Patna: Patna recorded eight new coronavirus infections on Sunday, reflecting the ongoing rise in Covid cases across the district. According to the Civil Surgeon’s office, two cases were identified at AIIMS Patna, five at a private laboratory, and one at NMCH.
The new positive cases come from various areas, including Neura, Danapur near Vaishali Gas Agency, Digha, Gola Road, Rajiv Nagar, and Kumhrar. Since May 23, the district has confirmed a total of 60 Covid infections, with 39 patients currently isolating at home and undergoing treatment.
Despite the increase in cases, none of the patients have required hospital admission. Most reported mild symptoms such as cold, cough, sore throat, fever, body aches, and headaches. Civil Surgeon Dr Avinash Kumar Singh emphasised that all active patients are being treated at home.
Health experts have urged residents to follow Covid safety guidelines strictly amid the recent surge in infections across the city and state.
