
Begusarai: A student from Bihar had a lucky escape when an Air India plane crashed into a medical college hostel in Ahmedabad. Ritesh Kumar Sharma, who is studying MBBS at BJ Medical College, was inside the canteen when the plane hit the building. He said there was a sudden loud noise and a wall collapsed near him, injuring a student sitting close by. Ritesh also suffered minor injuries.
Ritesh is from Mehda Shahpur Panchayat in Begusarai district of Bihar. His family panicked after hearing about the crash. A doctor from the college called his father, Lalan Sharma, around 2.30 in the afternoon and gave him the news. For several hours, the family could not reach Ritesh, which caused a lot of worry. They finally spoke to him in the evening and were relieved to know he was safe.
According to the family, many students and doctors lost their lives in the accident. They said Ritesh’s survival was nothing short of a miracle. They are thankful to God and praying for his fast recovery. The family remains tense but is in regular contact with him.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the hospital and met Ritesh along with other injured students. He asked about their condition and assured them of support. Even though Ritesh is safe, the fear and shock of the crash still haunts him and his family.
