BEGUSARAI – The Bihar Police have successfully arrested a notorious dacoit, Krishna alias Vivek, who was known for jet-setting from Mumbai to commit crimes. The gang orchestrating the robberies in Bihar utilized his services, and he was often the first to brandish his weapon during the incidents.
Krishna was recently arrested in connection with a broad daylight robbery at Ratna Mandir Jewelers Limited in Begusarai. This comes after his involvement in a similar armed robbery at Heera Jewelers in Samastipur in December 2022, where jewelry worth one crore and 50 thousand in cash were looted.
The CCTV footage from the Begusarai robbery played a crucial role in the identification and subsequent arrest of six criminals involved in the crime. The police recovered four country-made pistols, three live cartridges, one lakh in cash, and a substantial quantity of ganja from the apprehended criminals.
SP Yogendra Kumar revealed that 15 days prior, the criminals executed a major daylight robbery in the city police station area, injuring a staff member in the process. The police, using CCTV footage, identified the miscreants and deployed six special teams to make the arrests.
Krishna alias Vivek, originally from Muzaffarpur but residing in Mumbai, has a history of criminal cases against him. He is believed to have flown from Mumbai to Patna, then traveled to Samastipur to participate in the Heera Jewelers robbery. Krishna’s family, including his father Jitendra Shahi, has been living in Mumbai for 12 years, having fled their village due to murder accusations against his father.
In the recent Begusarai robbery at Ratna Mandir Jewellers, Krishna was the one to wield a pistol, taking control of the situation. Following the Begusarai incident, three accused fled the state, with Krishna and two others eventually apprehended in Vishnupur of Nagar police station area.
The arrested criminals provided information leading to the arrest of gold and silver shopkeeper Santosh Sah of Samastipur, as well as Kanhaiya Kumar and Randhir Kumar of Samastipur. The police are actively conducting raids to capture the mastermind, Ravindra Sahni.
In a significant recovery, four country-made pistols, three live cartridges, and one lakh in cash have been seized from the arrested criminals.
