Patna: In a chilling case that has drawn comparisons to the infamous Raja Raghuvanshi murder of Indore, Patna Police have arrested a woman and her younger lover for conspiring to kill her husband. The incident took place in the Khagaul area of the city and has sent shockwaves through the local community.
According to police officials, the woman, identified as Anju Devi, allegedly planned the murder of her husband, Ajay Kumar, with the help of her 10-years-younger lover, Ankit Kumar. The couple had reportedly been in an extramarital relationship for some time, and investigators believe the motive was both personal and financial.
Ajay Kumar was found dead under suspicious circumstances, prompting an investigation. During questioning, inconsistencies in Anju’s statements led police to dig deeper, eventually uncovering the murder plot. Ankit, a resident of Naubatpur, was detained and later confessed to his role in the crime.
Senior police officials stated that the murder was carefully premeditated. Anju allegedly lured her husband to a secluded location under false pretenses, where he was attacked and killed by Ankit.
The case bears a striking resemblance to the recent Raja Raghuvanshi case, where a similar love triangle led to a high-profile murder in Meghalaya. Investigators have drawn parallels between the two, particularly the element of betrayal within a marital relationship and the involvement of a younger paramour.
Patna Police have filed charges against both suspects, and further investigation is underway to determine if additional individuals were involved. The case has sparked public outrage and renewed debate around domestic violence, infidelity, and the complexities of intimate partner crimes.
