Chapra: A businessman suffered serious burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack in Chapra, Bihar, on Monday morning, in what police believe may be linked to a long-running family land dispute.
The incident took place in Purani Gurhatti Mohalla, under the jurisdiction of Nagar police station. The victim, Diwakar Gupta, sustained burns to his face, hands, and feet, and is currently receiving treatment at Sadar Hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.
According to residents, the assailants arrived before dawn and hurled petrol bombs at Gupta’s home before fleeing the scene. Local people rushed to the spot after hearing the explosion and alerted the police. Officers have since collected forensic evidence from the site and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the attackers.
Gupta has accused his brother of orchestrating the attack, citing a long-standing dispute over property. The brothers had reportedly been involved in a heated argument just days before the assault.
