Patna: Bihar’s Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin on Monday approved 11 infrastructure schemes under the state plan fund, aimed at improving road connectivity and drainage systems across six districts. The projects, worth over Rs 70 crore, include both construction of new roads and repairs to damaged infrastructure.
Nitin also directed officials to expedite implementation across all selected locations. “The ever-expanding road network of Bihar reflects the pace of development. The department is committed to improving connectivity and ensuring safe and convenient traffic movement for all citizens,” he said.
The approved schemes span a range of infrastructure needs—from drain construction and road widening to laying paver blocks and setting up a community health centre. In Motihari district, the plan includes drain and paver slab works on both sides from Bariyarpur to Airport Chowk, and divider construction from Balua flyover to Town Thana and Gayatri Mandir.
Sitamarhi district will see roadside drains developed in Saurbhar, Manpur, Dimahi, and Bela Machchhpakouni villages under the Kumma-Bela route, as well as drain and CC road works from Sasaula Devi to the community health centre on the Riga-Dheng road.
In Madhubani, the project focuses on road repair in the Babubarhi market area along the Rajnagar-Babubarhi-Khutauna route. Kaimur district will witness the construction of drains in Devhalia market on the Ramgarh-Durgavati route.
Patna, the state capital, will see extensive work under the scheme. Key projects include the widening and reconstruction of Kidwaipuri Path—from Bachun Ji’s residence to Boring Canal Road via PD&T Colony and Rajiv Pratap Rudy’s house—and the development of a crematorium road from Shaheed Gate to Ramratan Singh Mahavidyalaya. Additional works include the widening and path construction along Saidpur Canal from Bazar Samiti Mode, improvements from Shershah Gur Ki Mandi to Bhikhna Pahadi, and road development connecting Gosai Tola Mode to Alpana Market via House No. 250 and multiple clinics. Another significant upgrade includes the road from Saristabad in Gardanibagh to the 70-feet bypass.
Minister Nitin emphasised that these projects are part of a long-term strategy to integrate regional development and improve daily life for Bihar’s residents.
