PATNA – Classes up to the eighth grade will remain closed until January 20 in Patna, while classes above the ninth grade will continue as usual. Special classes for Mission Daksh and Board exams will not be affected by this order. The District Magistrate (DM) extended the duration of the closure to January 20 due to no significant decrease in cold weather, contrary to the earlier order until January 16.

Similarly, in Buxar, considering the increasing impact of cold and chilly waves, District Magistrate Anshul Agrawal has extended the prohibition on the operation of all government and private schools, as well as Anganwadi centres, until January 20. The schools will now reopen on January 22, and academic activities for classes above the ninth grade will follow the previous order, conducted from 10 am to 3:30 pm with adequate precautions for Mission Daksh and Board exams.

In Saran, schools were initially ordered to remain closed until January 16 due to the cold, but observing the prevailing conditions, District Magistrate Aman Sameer has extended the closure until January 20. The order applies to all private and government schools up to grade eight, including Anganwadi centres. Classes above the ninth grade will run from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, and all schools in the district will remain closed until January 20. Pre-nursery schools, Anganwadi centres, and other schools are instructed to keep educational activities for classes up to the eighth grade closed until January 20.
