Patna: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Patna on Wednesday morning to launch the BJP’s Vijay Sankalp campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. He was welcomed at Patna Airport by BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, and minister Nitin Naveen along with other party leaders.
After arriving, Rajnath Singh inaugurated the BJP’s state working committee meeting held at Rajnath Gyan Bhavan in Patna. This meeting is a one-day event divided into two sessions. The party is expected to pass the Vijay Sankalp proposal to strengthen their election preparations. A political proposal will also be discussed along with a condemnation motion against RJD leader Lalu Prasad, who the BJP says insulted Dr BR Ambedkar by keeping his photo near his feet during a recent event.
The meeting will also discuss what Bihar has received from the central government in the past 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Party leaders believe these achievements will be an important part of their campaign to win the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will visit Patna on 6 July. This will be his first visit to Bihar after becoming Chief Minister. He is coming for a private programme but will also meet senior BJP leaders in Bihar to discuss election strategies. Many people from Bihar live in Rajasthan, and the party hopes Bhajan Lal’s visit will help in reaching out to them for electoral support.
