Patna: Police in Patna have arrested Manoj Kumar, also known as Makkhi, the husband of a local ward councillor, after recovering a pistol marked ‘Made in USA’ along with a magazine and 12 bullets from his residence. Manoj, who was arrested in connection with a case under the SC/ST Act, has a criminal history with five previous cases registered against him. A fresh case under the Arms Act has now been filed.
Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma said the operation exposed four criminal incidents in different police station areas. In a separate incident, police arrested Rajesh Rai, also known as Raju, from Jethuli with a pistol, two shells and nine cartridges. He allegedly planned to rob finance-related targets in Beur within the next two days.
Another accused, Shubham, was arrested from the Buddha Colony area while allegedly plotting a crime over an old enmity. Police recovered a pistol and three cartridges from him based on secret information.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Taufiq and Amit Kumar were arrested for their involvement in a robbery case under Nadi police station, where Rs 1,40,000 was looted on May 19. Police have also recovered the bike used in the robbery and continue to search for other suspects involved.
